Susan Ullman born in Tennessee, has resided in New York City most of her life. She has traveled extensively and developed an appreciation of other ethnic groups and their art as it relates to their culture.
Ullman holds an M.F.A. from Columbia /University. She has also studied at the art students’ league where she became inspired by several well-known artists. Among them were Matisse, Chagall, and Klee. From an early age, the artist recalls having a love of handmade paper and collage effect. Ullman also derives her inspiration from a deep desire to retain a sense of magic and fantasy within her life.
Ullman also has a background in dance. She is also an accomplished ceramic artist, professional baker and a published poet. She has developed her own style of color, movement and magical imagery.
Her work has been exhibited extensively, both nationally and internationally. Her work has also appeared in museums and private corporate collections. She has had many solo exhibitions in prominent galleries in the New York area.
She was also invited to contribute a chapter for the book Craftspeople in Their Own Words which is
available on Kindle from Amazon.Com
